Color, fade no more! Revive your color treated strands!

Calling all my peeps with colored treated hair! I know you love how your hair looks immediately when you walk out of the salon, but hate that it fades after the first wash. I hate this part of coloring my hair, I want it to be on point, 24/7 (I get it, there is actually a scientific reason it fades, but it’s frustrating nonetheless).

Enter “Viral Shampoo and Conditioner” and the joy to my years of frustration. This product has changed my hair! It keeps my strands magenta pink from color to color with minimal fading.

Viral has a broad range of colors, many skewing toward the creative colors that fade fastest. For you redheads out there their red and orange colored shampoo and conditioner are great to boost your color.

USE

I use this product every time I wash my hair, BUT I have a couple tricks. By itself after continual uses, the shampoo can be a drying to the hair. If you want to use it everyday, mix a 50/50 mixture of color safe shampoo with the Viral color and this solves the potential over drying problem. About every other wash, I will mix 50/50 color safe conditioner with the viral conditioner. For my hair the Viral condition has enough moisture to use it straight, you’ll have to play around with the texture of your hair to determine what is the best conditioner to Viral conditioner ratio for you. When you have a special event or you just need an extra punch of color, use the product in it’s fullest concentration. Let both the shampoo and conditioner “sit” on the hair for a bit when you’re in the shower.

TIPS

I travel A LOT and the last thing I want to do is ruin someone’s towels or linens because I have bright, colored hair. In addition, I don’t want to ruin mine at home so these tips are a go when on the road or in my own space

  • Black Hand Towel - This are a lifesaver. Use them to wrap your wet hair when on the road (or at home). You’re hair will constantly be dripping diluted color when wet. This prevents any transfer, especially to all those white hotel towels.

  • Satin Pillow Case - If you aren't already using these (see why here), this is a great reason to start.

  • Rinse the shower - There’s always a small amount of diluted ‘colored’ water that remains post showering. Give the shower a quick rinse to get this off the shower floor or walls. Even the ‘colored’ water will stain if allowed to dry.

Honolulu Cut.JPG

I colored my hair 6 weeks prior to this picture. For those 6 weeks, I had been working in Hawaii in the sun and salt. All I had been using was the Magenta shampoo and conditioner with the directions above and my color stayed this vibrant until my next appointment. (Also, if you live in Hawaii and need an AMAZING hair stylist, Tyler Bui, at Citizen-Salon in Honolulu is the best!!!! See his work here.)

Keep those strands looking fresh!

Jamie
